About this model

Model overview

The DD24DCTB9 is a current 24-inch DishDrawer in the DD24 series. Its model number is close to that of the DD24DCHTX9, and the final characters matter when we order parts.

See DCS dishwasher repair for how we work, or browse the DishDrawer lineup.

Complaints that start at the drawer front

The lid and latch system on a drawer-style dishwasher is more involved than a traditional door. If the drawer will not start, or stops mid-cycle, the lid sensor is the first suspect, and the documented lid faults are F5, F6 and F7 (see F5, F6 and F7). A drawer that was closed on a loose utensil or a tilted basket can set one of these.

Dishes come out dirty or wet

Spray arms that are blocked by a stray piece of food, a filter that has not been cleaned in a while, or a heating problem will each lower the result. A heating or sensor trouble may show as F4, described as a faulty temperature sensor or element. Our article on a dishwasher not cleaning dishes lists the checks: dishwasher not cleaning dishes.

Cabinet and plumbing factors

Because the drawer is built in, the connections behind it are only visible once it is removed. Water supply, drain hose, and the electrical connection all run through the same cut-out. Hose position and any shared drain connection under the sink are examined during a visit. A GFCI outlet that has tripped inside the sink cabinet can also stop the unit completely.

Owner checks that are safe

  • open the supply valve fully
  • reset the outlet or breaker once
  • pull out the lower filter and rinse it
  • remove anything touching the lid edge
  • note the code on the display and which drawer shows it

Leave electrical and plumbing connections alone.

On the day of the visit

The label is usually at the drawer front edge. Please keep the drawer accessible. We diagnose, then give you a written estimate, and we proceed only if you approve.

Why the full model number matters

The characters after the series prefix describe variations in the drawer, and parts such as panels, control boards and lid assemblies can differ between them. Read the label letter by letter and note any difference from similar models you have seen online. When you request service, include the number exactly as printed and the symptom in a sentence or two. That is enough for us to prepare the right approach for the diagnosis.
