A discontinued all-gas range from the Professional V2 line, serviced from its model label.
The RGCV2-305 is a gas range in the Professional V2 line, in the RGV2/RDV2 family. It is no longer sold new. Because everything in it, from the top burners to the oven, runs on gas, the faults we see are about ignition, flame quality and gas flow rather than electric heating elements.
With no electric oven element to blame, an oven that fails to heat points us at the oven burner, its igniter and the safety circuit that lets gas flow. Slow ignition or a flame that flickers out after a moment is a typical pattern. For the cooktop, our notes on a burner that will not ignite apply directly.
Look at the caps and heads after the burners cool; they should sit flat. Dry them thoroughly if the kitchen was recently mopped or steamed. Check that the range is plugged in, since a gas oven still needs power for its ignition, and glance at the breaker. Do not detach the gas connection or move the range away from the wall.
If you smell gas, leave the kitchen, do not touch light switches or the appliance, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.
Gas ranges in San Francisco are often fitted into narrow kitchens with a flexible connector hidden behind the unit. When a range has been pushed back after cleaning, that connector can kink, and the burners may behave oddly. Mention any recent moving or cleaning around the range when you book.
Check the label first; finding the model number shows where it usually is. We diagnose before repairing, provide a written estimate and wait for your go-ahead. See the general DCS range repair page for scope and the DCS ranges guide for the lineup. Its dual fuel sibling, the RDV2-304, has its own page.
Yes. Even though it burns gas, the igniters and controls are powered, so a dead outlet can look like a gas fault.
It is no longer sold new. Servicing the existing range is still what most owners ask us about.
A flame that does not stay lit can mean the igniter is weak or the sensing path is not confirming flame. A technician measures it rather than replacing parts blindly.
You can lift off cool, dry caps and wipe them, and clear visible debris from ports with a soft brush. Do not disassemble anything under the cooktop.
