A 36-inch professional drop-in gas cooktop from the CT series, serviced by label.
The CT-365BL is a 36″ gas cooktop from DCS’s professional drop-in series, known as CT. Drop-in means the unit is lowered into a countertop opening and secured from above, so the gas and ignition parts sit in the cabinet beneath rather than inside a range body.
A 36-inch cooktop has more burner positions than a smaller one, and that raises the chance that one of them will be the troublemaker. Typical reports include:
The flame behaviour in the third item is explained in our note on uneven burner flame; low settings are less forgiving of blocked ports.
Because the cooktop rests in a cut-out, the cabinet below shapes everything we can reach. A drawer or shelf that sits too close to the gas connection can prevent a clean look at the burner base. Tell us what is stored below, and clear the front of the cabinet before the visit if you can do so safely.
Switch the cooktop off, confirm that the household breaker for its electrical supply is on, and check that caps are seated. Wipe cooled surfaces with a damp cloth. Leave the trim ring and burner box alone.
If you smell gas, leave the kitchen, do not touch light switches or the appliance, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.
A 36-inch cooktop usually sits beneath a hood, and a strong blower can pull the flame sideways. If the problem only occurs with the hood running, mention it. Fog-damp kitchens and cooking near an open window can similarly disturb flames. Our hood repair page is helpful when the ventilation is the real issue.
Have the model number ready (finding the model number). We diagnose before repairing, send a written estimate and proceed only after you approve. See also the DCS cooktop repair service and the cooktops guide. A 36-inch sibling is the CDU-365.
It is a 36-inch cooktop in the Professional drop-in (CT) series.
We make no claim about availability for this model. Repair is what we handle.
Low flames depend on clean ports and a stable gas flow, so partial blockage or a draught can extinguish them. A technician checks both.
No. Please leave it in the cut-out; we open the unit only when a diagnosis calls for it.
